Black Food Truck Festival Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
Black Food Truck Festival LLC ("BFTF," "we," "us") does not sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
It applies to blackfoodtruckfestival.com, our email newsletters, our social media accounts, ticket purchases and our events, including the Black Food Truck Festival, the Opening Soiree, Trappyoke and AfroChuck. Our affiliated nonprofit, Black Food Truck Festival Foundation, follows the same practices when it collects information.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us and limited information collected automatically.
Information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code or mailing address, and the details of tickets, merchandise or vendor and sponsor applications you submit.
Purchase information: ticket and merchandise orders are processed by our third-party ticketing and payment providers. We receive your order details, but we do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Automatic information: our website host (Squarespace) and our analytics tools collect standard data such as pages visited, browser and device type, referring website, and approximate location based on IP address.
Event information: photos and video taken in public areas of our events, and information you share at sign-up tables, contests or giveaways.
Social media: when you follow, message or tag us, we see the information your platform settings make public to us.
How we use and share information
We use your information to run our events and communicate with you:
Process tickets, orders, check-in, refunds and customer service
Send event updates and, if you subscribe, our email newsletter
Improve our website, events and programming
Keep our events safe and meet legal obligations
We share information only in these cases:
Service providers that help us operate, such as website hosting, ticketing, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
Sponsors and partners, with your consent only. Some sign-ups ask whether you want to hear from a named sponsor or partner, such as a tourism organization sending travel guides. We share your details with that partner only if you check the box naming them. Each opt-in is separate and optional, and is never required to buy a ticket.
Aggregate reports. We may share combined, non-identifying statistics with sponsors and partners, such as attendance totals, states of origin and email performance.
Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the safety of our guests, staff and vendors.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work without them. If we advertise on social media platforms, those platforms may use their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Email marketing
We send marketing emails only to people who subscribe or opt in at purchase. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor requests promptly.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you, by emailing the address below. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, and we will honor them.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, and we limit access to people who need it. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Children
Our website and email list are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
